Isaac the Peacemaker

Abraham the Patriarch really knew how to trust God, and God blessed him for his faith. Abraham’s son Isaac (whose name means “laughter”—do you remember why? ) was an only child, born when his parents were 100 years old. But God’s promise to Abraham was extended through Isaac as well.

One of the main things Isaac is known for is keeping peace. Although the people around him kept bothering Isaac’s people and fighting over wells (water was very important in those days), Isaac walked away from the problem and kept on following God.

Finally the people around Isaac came to him and said “We see that God is blessing you, so we want to make peace with you.” Isaac’s example of peace finally paid off!

We’ll have a special treat Sunday as the Wolfe family, our church’s missionaries to Chile, will join us to help us understand what a missionary does and why they do it. Brush up on your Spanish!

See you Sunday—and it would be a great day to bring a friend.
