As we learned last week, Jesus was born at exactly the right time in God’s plan, with the world at peace for the only time in history because of the Roman Empire and their Pax Romana, one language used by most of the people in the world (Greek), and the Jewish Synagogues in almost every town where Jesus would be invited to teach.
But another thing we see about Jesus’ birth is that there were angels everywhere! The angels knew what was going to happen, and they must have been waiting excitedly for hundreds of years to get ready for Jesus’ birth. From angels telling John the Baptist’s father Zachariah that he would be born to the angel choir telling the shepherds that Jesus had finally been born (as well as a couple of more times after that), we read about angels everywhere.
This Sunday we will learn about how angels told Mary and Joseph that God was going to bring Jesus into their home as a baby. What a wonderful message!
Thanks for your help decorating our room for Christmas last week! We had to rearrange things a little to finish it up, but the room looks great.
Bring a friend to enjoy the Christmas season with us this week!
