It was great to meet many of you last week as we started our new Sunday School year! We hope that more of you can join us, now that Labor Day is over and school is back in session.
Last week we learned about the name God told to Moses, YAHWEH, or “I Am That I Am.” God is eternal—He has always been and He always will be. He had no birthday! It’s awesome to worship and serve such a great and powerful God!
This week we’ll look at God our protector, and another one of the names used for God in the Bible—Elohim. The story is about Moses leading the nation of Israel to cross the Red Sea—you can read all about it in Exodus 14. We’ll take a look at where scholars think the Red Sea crossing actually took place, and at how God protected the Israelites with His awesome power. They were really scared because the Egyptians were chasing them will all the chariots in the whole country, in addition to the 600 “special” chariots. But the Israelites didn’t have to do any fighting…God took care of all they needed and protected them. He protects us today, too—and that’s what we’ll be talking about Sunday,
Hope to see you this week…and you might think about bringing a friend.
