God Can Do Anything!

It is really not surprising that, since God created everything, has all power and all knowledge, and can be everywhere at once, He is able to do anything He chooses. And everything He chooses to do is good, right, and just. It’s really great that, with all this power, God still loves us and wants us to spend time with Him in prayer and worship.

This Sunday we’ll be learning about how King Herod (the grandson of the one who tried to kill Jesus by killing all the babies in Bethlehem) decided to kill Simon Peter, and threw him into a Roman prison. Pretty scarey. But Peter must not have been scared, since he was sleeping so soundly that the angel that God sent to rescue him had to nudge him to wake him up. And the believers in Jerusalem were concerned, but they were praying for Peter’s release from Prison.

And God did it! Two soldiers sleeping next to Peter and chained to him weren’t able to stop him, nor were the other two soldiers outside the prison cell. Peter got up and walked out, with the gate opening by itself. Isn’t God awesome?

Please try to use your prayer journals…just make a note in them from time to time (actually every day is best) about things you would like to pray for. The main thing is to spend time with God, telling Him what’s on your mind, just like you would talk to a friend. The more each of us can do this, the more we will be able to live the way God wants us to live…pleasing to God and best for us, as well.

See you Sunday…and bring a friend!
