God has given each of us a family. Families come in many shapes and sizes, with different numbers of children and one or two parents. Sometimes we have grandparents or other relative as part of our family. But we all need to get along with our families, know that we can depend on one another when we need love, support, protection, and many other things. We can all be a real part of our families as well, doing our part to love and help each other and make our home a happy one, pleasing to God.
In the month of May we’ll be learning about several Bible famlies, and from them we’ll learn about how children today can help make their families the best they can be. This Sunday we’ll learn about Abraham and his nephew Lot, and how they worked things out when they had arguments. Even though they had some disagreements about whose sheep would get to the best grazing, they discussed the problem and worked out a way to avoid fighting. But they stayed close enough together that they could help each other when there were problems with others.
Start now! Pray for each member of your family—including yourself! That’s one great way to make your family more like God intended it to be.
See you Sunday—and bring a friend!
